A fabulous exhibition!!!
The archaeology department proposes, around the “mythical animals” theme, common to the cultural establishments of the Town, the exhibition “De la licorne au narval” (From the unicorn to the narwhal) from April the 2nd to November the 6th, as well as a pedagogical working group for the 8-11 every Wednesday morning.
This exhibition is also an opportunity to discover the job of zoo-archaeologist, a specialist of what remains from the animals, and the different steps of his job, in the field and in laboratory, through a specific path which goal is the mythical animal.
The discovery of the skeleton of a strange animal is a pretext to the reconstitution of a zoo-archaeologistical study. The laboratory becomes a favorable place to understand what this subject is. That is to say that science try to reveal the origins of the myths and monsters presented in the curiosity office and who populate our collective imagination.
