Production of stained-glass in a working group for children


School of stained-glass and heritage – Cathedral square


 


The International Center of Stained-glass suggests courses of stained-glass introduction for children during the holiday.


 

Under the direction of a stained-glass maker, each child will make a stained-glass of 20 cm² representing a detail of a famous stained-glass of the Cathedral

Techniques and equipment are the one used during the Middle-Age: the cut and the grozing of stained glass in the mass, painting and firing of the grisaille, assembly with lead and joining with tin. Kids can keep the stained-glass which would be packed and provided of fixation. A visit of the Cathedral will allow the children to discover the stained-glass windows and their signification.


Welcoming: a course takes place through two days of a same week.
Number of children received in a group: 8
Age: from 10 to 14

Timetable:
First day: 10am to 12. And from  2pm to 4pm
Second day: 10am to 12. And from 2pm to 5pm.

Objective:
Due to the direct access to art and know how, the International Center of Stained-glass offers to the kids the keys of an art and a technique which will help them to understand craftsmanship and to develop their creativity.
