Theatrical visit for children (in French)
«Raconte-moi l’histoire de Chartres» (tell me about Chartres’ history)
Parents and Kids are invited to discover Chartres ‘ history all along a theatrical walk. During these visits, anecdotes, game question-answer and interactive dialogues will enable to evoke Chartres through ages in a funny way.
The tour will stride along the up and down town following more particularly the Cloître Notre-Dame, the rue aux Herbes, the place of Poissonnerie (Maison du Saumon), the stairway (tertres) de la Poissonnerie, le rue des Ecuyers, le tertre du Pied plat, le pont Bouju, le quai des Teinturiers, la rue de la Planche aux Carpes, le tertre Saint-François, la place de l’Etape au vin, l’Hôtel Montescot, la place Marceau, la rue de la Pei, la place Estienne d’Orves, la rue du Soleil d’Or or in addition the place Billard.
Novelty : la Maison de l’Avare (the Miser House) will be included in the tour !
Historical anecdotes: the time of the Carnutes and Romans, Henri IV sacre, Marceau, the Revolution and the gang of Orgères will be the great novelty of this year. But there will still have historic references to daily life through the time, to the construction of the cathedral…
The characters: Léonie Lavande and Marie Dentelle.
Léonie Lavande is the erudit of the duo. Curious and gifted of magic powers, she has decided to explore the time to see how people lived during different time, and to meet the famous people of the History.
Marie Dentelle, who asked Léonie to take her to visit the different times, for she was as curious as Léonie. Her great gluttony has driven her to eat Bertille’s apples grove. Since that moment she is chased by Bertille the witch.
This theatrical visit is proposed all along the year.

Rates per visit: €4/ adult - €6/ child (from 4 to 12). Free for child under 4.
Inscription: reservation required at the Chartres Convention and Visitors’ Bureau (Place de la Cathédrale) before the visit. 30 persons maximum for the departure.
